Build upon the existing experience with speed, convenience, and ease of use in mind. The business goals were to drive patient bookings and for the process from finding to booking an appointment to be relatively quick, ideally 60 seconds.

Create a simple and easy to use site that would provide a seamless experience across devices. Provide the users with a hassle-free booking experience giving them the information they require without being overwhelmed.

A clean interface with familiar tried and tested design patterns such as progressive reveal on mobile to account for screen real estate. The use of iconography to clearly demonstrate what it was the user was looking at and what they needed to do next. A cohesive responsive UI for all devices.

Mobile app 

I worked closely with the CEO to help translate his vision and ideas into a fully working app. I researched layouts, user journeys, and UI elements to create something that best represented the Zesty brand. Being the sole designer, I worked on the initial wireframes all the way through to the final assets which were handed over to the development team. I also provided creative support during production and have since made revisions to the design for recent updates and releases.

An important aspect of this project was to ensure a seamless booking experience so a lot of thought went into the UX journey. It was important to understand and how users would behave and what they would expect from a mobile application. We incorporated actions such as swiping to trigger next and previous actions, not only to mimic popular gestures but also to declutter the interface for a clean design.

The aim was to keep the tone of the design and the UX similar to that of the responsive website. To keep the styling consistent and on brand, I utilized the bank of icons and elements that were previously created in the website refresh project with the addition of a few others.

Marketing emails

I was responsible for both the design and development of all email communications. The recipients were healthcare practices that were signed up to the Zesty service and patients who booked their healthcare appointments through the website.

In most cases, a minimalistic and robust design was used with the subtle addition of colour and images. The main emphasis was on the content so it could be read and understood regardless of how the email was finally rendered. During my time with this client, I experimented with a responsive framework called INK that has been specially created for HTML emails.
